Lionel Messi is reportedly ready to leave Barcelona at the end of next season and former Barca star Rivaldo believes that Manchester City could be the Argentine’s future destination.
Last week it was reported that Messi won’t be signing a new deal at the Nou Camp and has instead decided to leave the club when his contract expires at the end of next season.
“Despite his connection to the club, he has the right to move if he wants and reuniting with Pep Guardiola at City will be tempting for him, as the two of them formed a great coach and player partnership at Barca.”
Messi has been linked with a move to City in the past, before signing a new deal and staying in Spain, and even at 34-years-old he would make an excellent addition to Guardiola’s side.
Problems on and off the pitch have made the club’s all time top scorer consider his future at Barcelona and things are certainly better off the pitch at City.
Another club who would be one of the few that Messi could move to have a history of picking up players for nothing at the end of their contracts, and Rivaldo believes Juventus would love to pair Messi with Cristiano Ronaldo.
